Level B2- Intermediate I.

This level is for those with an ample knowledge of the indicative verb forms.  You will be able to give detailed information about general topics as well as spontaneously starting conversations.  In addition, you will be able to recognize the key words of conversations which will help you better organize your expression of ideas.  You will understand much of complete texts, movies and television programs.  Your writing skills will expand to include telling someone’s life story and academic writing skills such as note-taking and report writing.


General Topics

Adjectives that describe character, exports and imports, words that have the same meaning, different parts of words and word formation, dates, numbers, spelling, expressing surprise and interest, social expressions/slang, parts of the telephone conversation, English warning signs. 

Writing

Self-editing letters, taking notes, writing a biography, book and film reviews, research and report writing, formal and informal letters, describing your favourite part of town.

Grammar Contents

- The tense system: simple, continuous, perfect active and passive
- Auxiliary verbs: do, be, have
- Expressing quantity: a little, lots of, not much, hardly any
- Countable and uncountable nouns: money, dollars, time/times
- Future forms: will do, shall do, going to do
- Tense usage in clauses: When I have read the book, I will give it to you.
- Relative clauses: defining and non-defining-Politicians, who tell lies,…
- Verb patterns: to be + adverb or preposition
- Past perfect
